Readers may not have heard of Zircotec but the Oxfordshire-based firm produces a wide range of ceramic and metallic coatings to protect manifolds and exhausts (for example) from the effects of heat, wear and corrosion.
Zircotec’s latest coating is its first ever glossy black ‘enamel-like’ finish. Named Liquid Black, it’s designed to emulate Jaguar’s factory finish and gives classics a period look.

As is the standard for all Zircotec products, it serves to protect underbonnet components and bodywork from the effects of heat.

To give you an idea of what you’ll need to pay, Zircotec charges £330 to coat a pair of cast manifolds for a six-cylinder engine.
