CONVOY FOR HEROES BREAKS RECORD
Friday, 28 October 2011 00:00

DecNewsRecordIt’s been officially confirmed by Guinness World Records that the Convoy for Heroes 2011 event – which took place earlier this year – has been recognised as the longest Land Rover parade in the world, with an impressive 348 taking part, raising £15,000 for Help for Heroes.

The previous world record was set at Towcester Racecourse in 2004 by a parade of 260 Land Rovers. But the organisers of this year’s record-breaker aren’t resting on their laurels, and are already planning next year’s convoy – which it’s hoped will see up to 1000 Land Rovers gathering at Prestwold Hall, Leicestershire over the Easter weekend of April 7 and 8.
