Even with the leaves falling like confetti, trad British sportscars were still able to hook punters with any money left to spend at Sandown, where a nicely presented 1966 Austin-Healey 3000 Mk3 made £38,500, £8500 more than the guide price, and a 1969 MGB Mk2 Roadster, super mint following restoration with very twee hide interior and 1860cc big-valve motor, attracted £11,270, close to top estimate money.

An earlier B with pull-door handles and distinctive ‘Bermuda’ hardtop that had been refurbished in the past and was nearly ready for more pulled the necessary £6050. Some £14,850 was accepted for a 1963 Jensen CV8 Mk1 Auto with Coopercraft four-pot front callipers and a £9460 Lotus Elan +2 130 had been rebuilt on a galvanized chassis and had a five-speed box.
