Thick with dust and oozing patina, the Lag had been in the same family ownership since March 1951. Incredibly original throughout, Cheffins’ conservative guide of £50,000-60,000 was soon exceeded, with spirited bidding driving the price up to a strong and thoroughly well-deserved £71,400.
