DREAM RIDE FOR LEWIS
Thursday, 09 December 2010 17:08

lewisSeventeen year old Lewis Hanson, from Exmouth, recently achieved his ambition of a ride in a 1967 Shelby Mustang, thanks to Starlight Children’s Foundation – a wish-granting charity for children with serious and terminal illnesses.

Lewis, who was recently diagnosed with Fabry Disease, has always had an interest in cars, his favourite being the Shelby Mustang. And so, keen to make his wish come true, Starlight found a private collection of classics owned by Philip Walker – whose cars include the Shelby.

Philip was happy to invite Lewis and his parents – Louise and Simon – to visit, and the family spent the day exploring the classic car collection. The real highlight for Lewis, though, was being taken for a long drive in his beloved Mustang.

For more details of Starlight or to refer a child with a serious illness and a wish that needs granting, check out the charity’s website at www.starlight.org.uk.
