CAR CLUBS HEAD FOR DONINGTON
Wednesday, 09 March 2011 17:45

NewsDoningtonCar clubs large and small will be in on the action at the Donington Historic Festival, taking place at Donington Park over the Bank Holiday weekend of April 30 to May 1. And the organisers are promising an exciting three days, with on-track action from 300 historic racing cars from the 1930s to the Eighties, plus a host of off-track attractions that include automobilia and trade stands, Group B rally car demonstrations and historic karts.

Club representation will be a major part of the event, with larger organisations like the Bentley Drivers’ Club, MG Owners’ Club and TR Register mixing with smaller clubs – like the Wreake Mini Wanderers – as well as regional sections of national clubs. Event organiser Duncan Wiltshire explained: ‘Car clubs of all sizes are the backbone of the historic car movement, and we want to see as many as possible represented at the Festival.’

Members of registered car clubs will be offered a special entry package, to include a two-for-one ticket deal (exclusively for pre-booked car clubs), along with dedicated members’ parking and club display areas – at no additional charge – next to the race paddock and trade village. There will also be track parades for invited club members.

Registration forms are available from the Car Clubs section that can be found online  (www.doningtonhistoric.com) or by calling 01379 678787.
