The event involved a convoy of club members’ cars leaving Bristol’s Kensington-based showroom and heading for Mytchett Place, near Farnborough – home of the Frazer-Nash Group. Bristol is now owned by Kamkorp Autokraft, a subsidiary of Fraser-Nash. Group chairman Kamal Siddiqi told assembled journalists: ‘We are here for the long haul, make no mistake, and it’s our intention for Bristol to become a profitable and successful company.’ Over the last two decades, Frazer-Nash has been heavily involved in electric powertrains, and it is widely expected that the next new-model Bristol – likely to go on sale within eighteen months – will feature hybrid technology. On Bristol’s recently updated website, William Chia – Frazer-Nash Group’s director of operations – explains: ‘Over the next few months we will start to reveal the details of our plans to combine Bristol Cars’ tradition and iconic marque with Frazer-Nash’s pioneering technology to showcase our cutting-edge electric and range-extended powertrains.’ Meanwhile, owners of both classic and modern Bristols have been assured that the company will continue to support them, as well as offering its traditional servicing and restoration facilities. Used vehicles continue to be sold by the company, which is keen to stress that it’s ‘business as usual’ at its Kensington showroom. |
