Since Edsel Ford dug the first turf on the site in May 1929, the factory took 28 months to build and begin manufacturing vehicles. And even though Dagenham is no longer a car producer, it is still Ford’s largest UK factory – home to an engine plant and a powertrain engineering team, employing around 4500 people in total. |
