Great news for Mini owners – Mini Spares now stocks Evolution 5-Speed ‘A Plus’ gearboxes, for standard and slightly-modified Minis. This replacement ’box has been designed to offer Mini owners a suitable drive ratio in fourth for acceleration, with the overdrive fifth gear promising more fuel-efficient (not to mention quieter) motorway cruising. It’s also said to be stronger than the original transmission system fitted to Issigonis’ creation. It’s priced at £2000. Mini Spares is also offering owners first/second gear inner and outer hub assemblies for all ailing four-synchromesh gearboxes (at £141).
