Lucas 11AC versions are fitted with 4TR regulators that use a small canister-style warning light control unit, known as the Lucas 3AW (38706). This particular part has been rendered obsolete for many years, but can now be replaced with this new item: a 115.017 solid-state unit. This component has been designed for use with negative-earth classics but, as long as you’re not using an LED ignition warning lamp, Retro Classic Car Parts assures us it’s also safe for use with positive-earth vehicles.
