This high-tech formula is said to halt residual rust in its tracks and converts it into a black protective polymeric coating, eliminating the need for sanding. The converted protective coating, once dried, is now a suitable primer and compatible with most top coats. The formulation is thin enough to flow into cracks and panel joints and seams.
