So far, they’ve proven extremely useful. We question their 12 km range potential as there have been times when all we received was static, even though distance between the two radios was only several hundred yards, but for the most part communications are clear and crisp. They’re simple to use, but also boast numerous clever features such as a vibrating alert and voice activation. The brand you’re looking for is Cobra – online through Maplin they’re currently priced at just £49.99. CONTACT |

Over the past few months the CCM team have been out and about driving numerous classics for twin test and group comparison features. We’ve found that coordinating cars, especially while they’re on the move in convoy, can be tricky. We’re sure that car run organisers have come across the same thing, where it would be helpful to be able to chat with the car that you’re following. That’s why when we spotted Maplin had just released a pair of two-way radios we just had to have a go.
